Nothing like a good beach day. Hold on…It’s almost September??? With Labor Day on the horizon, soon it’ll be time to say so-long summer. Time to check off some of the things on our beach bucket list before it’s too late! There’s so many exciting activities to decide from in Ocean City, we usually opt to relaxing on the beach and walking the boards. But with this summer season coming to a close, it’s time to make some memories!
If you have kids, the opportunities in Ocean City are nearly endless. Definitely don’t miss Funtastic Tuesdays, where from 10am-1pm kids can enjoy face painting, balloon art, pony rides, and more! You can find this happening all along downtown Asbury Ave every week until Labor Day. Similarly, Market Days are also on Asbury Ave and feature the same entertainment. However, this event is on Thursdays from 10am-1pm.
Another kid-friendly favorite is Wacky Wednesday, although this is really fun for the whole family. Every Wednesday at 10:30 am, people gather outside the Ocean City Music Pier to create crazy sculptures with a different medium every week. Some sculpture materials include fries, salt water taffy, and even paper clips. Not sure what this week’s challenge entails? Guess you’ll have to check it out to see!
If you’re an Ocean City veteran, chances are you’ve stumbled across Family Night on the boardwalk once or twice. For those who don’t know, Family Night is entertainment all across the boardwalk from 7:30-9:30pm. But a newer addition to the weekly lineup is Mummers Night! Tuesday nights from 7-9pm you can strut on the boards alongside the mummers on 6th-14th street.
If you’re a morning person, then the Farmer’s Market on Wednesday mornings is for you. Not a morning person? Good thing it goes from 8am-1pm! Check out the Farmer’s Market at the Ocean City Tabernacle Grounds for some fresh Jersey produce, key-lime pie that is to die for, fresh pasta, hand-made jewelry, and so much more. The Farmer’s Market is also very dog-friendly, which is a bonus!
Hopefully this will be enough to keep you busy until Labor Day, but if you’re looking for more, check out Renting Russ’ Ocean City bucket list here!
