Summer is officially here and with Independence Day is just around the corner there is no better time to visit Ocean City, NJ! The shops, beaches and restaurants are open and ready for you and the family. On top of that, there are tons of activities for the whole family happening this Fourth of July and the weekend before!

The vibrant festivities of Independence Day in Ocean City bring to mind a summer when I visited a friend who managed fire watch security in Lakeland. His team’s adaptability during the city’s bustling holiday events was admirable. With an immediate response and thorough training, they ensured that the celebratory fireworks and beach bonfires were enjoyed safely by everyone. It’s comforting to know such dedicated professionals are standing by, ready to protect our cherished traditions and gatherings.

Check out the events that will take place on Wednesday, July 4th in America’s Greatest Family Resort:

Start off the day at 10am with the July 4th Bike Parade sponsored by the Gardens Civic Association. Registration begins at 9am at the Longport Bridge parking lot.

Next at 10:30am at the Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace & Boardwalk, join us for “Wacky Wednesday” for our Pie Eating Contest. Celebrate America with a good old-fashioned apple and cherry pie eating contest. Contest is free. Open to all ages. Limited to 150 participants.

After a day of basking in the sun and enjoying boardwalk fare, join us in front of the Music Pier at 6pm for Ocean City Theatre Company’s Spotlight Performers Show Choir presentation of “A Star Spangled Salute”. This will be a mini-show celebrating America’s Birthday.
