Summer may be winding down and the kids are headed back to school, but it’s not too late to visit OCNJ and see all that America’s Greatest Family Resort has to offer. The hustle and bustle of this shore town may be slowing down, but the number of events and races this September will make you think otherwise! Great weather and numerous events make September the perfect time to visit!
Sports tourism will draw vacationers to OCNJ this September with the majority of the big events being races and fundraisers. If you’re a fitness guru, or even if you just want to support a great cause, make the trip to OCNJ this September and participate in multiple races and fundraisers with other vacationers and locals.
If you’re not into competing, the island is full of options to get out, exercise and explore the area! Our 9th Street Bridge, stretching over 2 miles, has bike and walk paths that you can utilize that overlooks the ocean. OCNJ Labor Day Race – Monday, September 4, 2017

Ocean City Board…Walk to Defeat ALS – Saturday, September 16, 2017
This 2 mile walk to defeat ALS takes place at the Athletic Complex on 6th street starting at 10am. Registration begins at 9am. For more information, contact Taylor Montgomery at 215-643-5434.
MS City to Shore Ride – Saturday, September 23, 2017
Bike MS, with 7,000 cyclists raising $5.6 million – promises to be the best cycling experience on the east coast. This ride is fully supported with catered rest stops, bike support and SAG transportation. Your participation will drive MS research forward faster, and deliver services to those who face the challenges of MS every day so they can live their best lives. OCNJ Half Marathon – Sunday, September 24, 2017
This 5k & 10 mile Non-Competitive Walk/Run takes places right as the fall season hits the Jersey Shore. Registration between Aug. 1-Sept. 20 is $60, Sept. 21-23 is $70. NO RACE DAY registration for the half marathon. For more information call 609-399-6111 or www.ocnj.us/race-events
